Overview of trade unions and wage tables

To find a relevant collective agreement and wage table the occupational sector of each agreement must be taken into consideration. On the SGS, Samiðn and VM websites you will find information about their collective agreements and wage tables. 

Federation of General and Special workers in Iceland (SGS)

SGS is a federation of trade unions in the private sector and part of the public sector. SGS is the most populous association of workers in Iceland made up of 19 trade unions of general and special workers, with approximately 53.000 members. SGS's five main branches are food and agriculture, building and construction, service and tourism, industry, and public services. SGS is a member of ASÍ – The Icelandic Confederation of Labour.

Samiðn- samband iðnfélaga

Samidn is a nationwide federation of labour unions whose members work in engine mechanics, hairdressing, metal mechanics, technical drafting, building industries, horticulture and shipbuilding. Samiðn is a member of ASÍ- The Icelandic Confederation of Labour.

The Icelandic Union of Marine Engineers and Metal Technicians (VM)

VM covers Marine Engineers, Metal Technicians and Specialised Assistants with professional experience, and represents workers nationwide. VM is a member of ASÍ- The Icelandic Confederation of Labour.
